About Paul

Paul Meer has been a ceramic artist for more than 50 years. His experience includes over 20 years as a ceramic arts teacher at Woodside High School, and 25 years of throwing clay in the role of a first century potter in the Christmas event called “Bethlehem A.D.” in Redwood City, California.

Paul Avraham Meer, born and raised in The Bronx, New York City, to a Jewish family in a multicultural neighborhood. In 1968 he moved to San Francisco and lived the hippie lifestyle for a few years. In 1971, he experienced a spiritual transformation and discovered that Jesus (Yeshua) is the promised Messiah of the Jewish people. As one friend said to him, “the change in your life has been miraculous”. Paul’s art comes from his life experiences, including the loss of his father at age 9, and from his spiritual journey, as a Jew who believes Yeshua Messiah.

Paul was fortunate to teach high school ceramics for over 20 years at Woodside High School in California and was well-known for his commitment to his students, dedication to excellence in craftsmanship, and for encouraging his students to explore both art and life to the fullest.
