“Your Word, Lord, is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”

Psalm 119:105

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:1

Paul Meer states that his pottery exemplifies scripture, and on some of his pots Paul literally (and painstakingly) hand paints scripture in Biblical Hebrew onto the pottery. In the video, Paul talks about his methods and purpose to paint the Hebrew letters that spell out Psalm 23 onto one pot, and on another the “Shema”, which is the most important prayer and declaration of faith for Jews around the world – “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One” (based on Deuteronomy 6:4-9). Words in any language are vessels of communication and prayer, and clay pots are literal vessels. Paul Meer’s Hebrew pottery uniquely communicates Paul’s reverence and love for God’s Word in the Bible.

Self discipline leads to harnessing your passions and facilitates self expression and clarity of thought and purpose BUT self indulgence dissipates your spirit, squanders your passions and destroys your soul. Of all the pleasures in life self discipline is among the very best – it promotes self esteem, confidence and is the dynamic that enables you to achieve your goals.
